You won't find any embroidery hoops around here. I don't stitch flowers. It's not that I like to break the rules, I just didn't learn them to start with. I'm a self taught freemotion embroidery artist that is still learning as i go.
This is a self portrait I created while experimenting with using stitches like brushstrokes and the layering of colour.
I have combined abstract shapes and fine detailed lines as well as mark making with thread and pencil.
